The Arundell Arms

The award winning Arundell Arms is located in the village of Lifton in the heart of Devon, just a stone`s throw from Dartmoor, two miles from the Cornish border and a short drive to the city of Plymouth. The Hotel is well known as one of England`s finest Country Sports Hotels. As well as having 20 miles of its own river banks available for fishing, the countryside surrounding the hotel is the perfect location for shooting with its steep hills and wooded valleys. The hotel itself is an old coaching inn, which sits on a site that dates back to the Saxon times and today is one of the few remaining dedicated angling hotels in the country. The hotel offers a range of courses in fly fishing (surcharge) that can be tailored to suit your needs, whether you`re a beginner or an experienced angler. For guests interested in more energetic activities, the golden beaches of the north Cornish coast and the amazing surfing opportunities they offer can easily be reached by car within 30 minutes. The hotel`s ideal location nestled between the rolling hills and patchwork fields is a great base for guests to partake in a range of activities. All of the Arundell Arms 26 guestrooms are decorated in a warm, traditional style using decorative wallpapers, antique furniture and tasteful upholstery. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with bath & shower, bathrobes, complimentary toiletries and hairdryer. They also feature free Wi-Fi, TV, desk, telephone, radio, alarm clock, ironing facilities, heating, complimentary bottled water and tea & coffee making facilities. Many rooms have views over the pretty terraced garden and the rare 250 year old cockpit; one of the last few remaining in England, which now serves as the hotel`s fishing tackle shop. The fine dining menu has been created by the resident Head Chef, who has the rare honour of being elected one of only 80 master Chefs of Great Britain. The food is always beautifully prepared and presented, using only the finest quality of products that have been sourced from local suppliers and is combined with a well selected list of fine wines.
