Hotel and location

The Royal Albion Hotel is housed in two interconnecting Regency buildings, located on the city`s seafront, adjacent to the Old Steine and war memorial, and directly opposite the beach and Brighton Pier. London Gatwick Airport is 31 miles from the hotel, around 30 minutes by car.Hotel Guests can relax with draught beers, hot drinks and light meals in the bar, which features a wide-screen television showing sporting events and extends into a contemporary, conservatory-style side lounge with views of the pier. Guests of the Royal Albion can dine in the restaurant which offers sea views and serves buffet breakfasts and traditional British fare, including Cottage Pie, Gammon Steak and Fillet of Cod at lunch and dinner. The Palace Pier, opposite the hotel, offers cafes, rides and an amusement arcade. The nearest golf course is approximately half a mile from the hotel; bicycles and scooters are available for hire within 100 metres, and hikers can explore the trails of the South Downs, 1.5 miles away.

Room and facilities

The Royal Albion Hotel houses 185 guestrooms across five floors, all of which feature predominantly red or blue colour schemes. All rooms include dial-up Internet connections, TVs, tea and coffee making facilities, direct-dial phones, and hair dryers. The Brighton Sea Life Centre is located 100 metres from the hotel and is visible from the lounge bar. Housed in a grand Victorian building, the centre replicates more than 30 marine environments, and houses creatures ranging from seahorses and giant Japanese spider crabs to sharks and endangered ocean- going turtles.

No onsite car park. Nearest car park is the Theatre NCP on Church Street. They charge £19 per 24 hours with a discount voucher from hotels reception.

Getting there

BY CAR: Travelling onto the M25 southbound, exit to the left onto slip road at junction 7 (M23 junction 8). Continue straight ahead onto M23 for approx 14 miles then onto the A23 for a further 19 miles. As you approach to the centre of Brighton, take a left turn into Oxford Place followed shortly by a right turn into Ditchling Road. After a further two thirds of a mile turn left onto the A23 St Peter`s Place. At the roundabout take the fourth exit onto Old Steine, where you will arrive at your destination.
FROM AIRPORT: Exit London Gatwick Airport and follow the signs for M23. Keep in the right hand lane for M23 southbound. Join M23 at Junction 9 and continue southwards. The M23 becomes the A23 at Pease Pottage. Continue southwards and you will arrive in Brighton at the Grand Junction roundabout. The Royal Albion hotel can be found immediately on your right.
BY TRAIN: From Brighton Station walk towards the sea. Pass the Clock Tower in the centre of the road continuing to the bottom of West Street, here turn left onto Kings Road and continue walking towards the hotel. The Royal Albion Hotel in Brighton can be found on the left hand side opposite Brighton Pier.
BY BUS: Exit the Pool Valley Bus Station. Walk towards the seafront and At the turn left and the Royal Albion hotel is immediately on your left.

Booked last minute for one night only and we were ...

Booked online. On arrival our check-in was quick and efficient. Room was spacious. Bed very comfy. Large spa-bath in bathroom was an unexpected bonus. Breakfast was excellent (amazing mushrooms!). All staff we came into contact with were very pleasant. Would definitely recommend....
