A fantastic place to stay.

We were made very welcome by all of the staff, the service was fantastic the accommodation a delight and the breakfast to die for. Not to mention the bar that has a good stock of fine wine and Scotch and they make a mean cocktail. We will definitely go back and stay again....

From the outset, we were made to feel comfortable and welcome. The dinner was beautiful! From a cream cheese filled cherry tomato amuse bouche before our starter of crab cakes. Fillet steak, seasoned and cooked to perfection, followed by opera gateau and coffee. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much bother. Afternoon tea on another day was lovely too and it was an invitation to afternoon tea at the Howard, on a previous trip to Edinburgh, which prompted us to book a short break at the Howard in the first place. I look forward to another visit in the not too distant future. Hang on to your Staff, they are your greatest asset....

Superb hotel

Comfortable and refined, there are not many boutique hotels of this quality. The food was excellent and the service compared very favourably with any hotel, anywhere, at any price. True butler service, large and comfortable rooms (we had two) and remarkably affordable. What more could you ask for?...
