Brook Red Lion

The 3* Brook Red Lion hotel is located in the heart of Britain`s oldest recorded town of Colchester, which dates back over 2,000 years. Colchester Station is just 10 minutes walk from the hotel. There is a vast amount of archaeological and historical sites to enjoy. Colchester Castle, just a 5 minute walk from the hotel, was built on the foundations of the Roman Temple of Claudius and was the first stone castle built by William the Conqueror.

The Brook Red Lion hotel was built in 1465 and retains the original Tudor features and atmosphere, blended with modern hotel amenities. The 24 rooms have ensuite bathrooms with bath or shower, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV and tea & coffee making facilities. The old banqueting hall is now the Parliament Restaurant which offers a relaxed dining experience with an A La Carte menu after which guests can enjoy a relaxing drink in the bar.

BY TRAIN: From Colchester Station exit onto Station Way and continue onto North Station Road using the pedestrian crossing at the roundabout. After 0.4 miles continue onto Middleborough, which leads onto North Hill. After a further 0.2 miles turn left onto High Street for the hotel. BY CAR: Leave the M25 at J28. Take the A12 and continue to follow this route until junction 27, take the A133 exit to Colchester. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Cymbeline Way and continue to follow A133. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Westway/A134. Continue to follow A134 through the next 2 roundabouts and then turn left onto Headgate. Continue onto Head Street and after 0.1 miles turn right onto High Street for the hotel.
