The Z Hotel Soho

Hotel and location

The Z Hotel Soho has designed a new concept of hotel accommodation that provides concentrated and luxurious rooms in the very heart of London`s West End. Although not officially rated, Hotel Direct has visited the property and would class it of a 3-star deluxe to 4-star standard and perfect for a couple of nights stay in the city. The building is a design led conversion of twelve Georgian townhouses, which combines classic architecture with contemporary style. Situated in the heart of Soho, guests have the West End on their doorstep with both the Prince Edward Theatre and Ronnie Scott`s Jazz Club only a few minutes` walk from the hotel. Although most are reachable on foot from the hotels, London`s further away attractions and sights can easily be reached with Leicester Square Underground Station just 3 minutes` walk away. The fantastic location puts you between the bookshops of Cambridge Circus and Charing Cross Road, the plentiful shopping opportunities of Oxford Street and, of course, the cosmopolitan hub of London`s Soho.

Room and facilities

Each of The Z Hotel Soho`s 85 compact guestrooms are gathered around a central courtyard and follow the design led ethos of the hotel itself. The rooms vary in size from 8m² for a single room, increasing to 13m² for a Queen room, with the hotels Inside rooms having an internal view with no windows. All rooms are air-conditioned and feature an en-suite wet room with a glass partition, free Wi-Fi, 40" TV with full Sky Sports & Movies package, hairdryer and complimentary toiletries. The Z Café on the ground floor offers a selection of platters from mezze, charcuteries or cheese board, as well as a range of ciabattas, sandwiches and salads without a hint of pre-packaged food in sight. For other dining needs guests will find Old Compton Street and the rest of Soho on their doorstep, meaning you will have a range of restaurants serving up an international cuisine to choose from.

Not smooth this time

Look, I said the place is excellent: location, price, service .. the room great .... I recommend the hotel to friends. This time some hiccups. On arrival: `Identification!` "Sorry, without identification I can`t register you!!!` It would have been better if there had been some empathy and asked for a UK name and address. Okay. (not what I`m use to. I`m used to: "What is your name?" ... Oh, ... Welcome back." There was a problem with the shower. Fixed within a couple of hours. Great. Then I tried to apply my member discount, It went horribly wrong. Staff don`t know about this and don`t know how to process it. The manager tried to apply the wrong discount then argued about food and drink discount. And then staff changed without communicating so that I was charged 40% too much, not 20% less. Like I said, well intentioned membership went horribly wrong. Whatever. I`ll be back. Cleraly an iNternal disconnect....

Compact but perfect and clean. Great location but...

I can`t fault the hotel. Whilst small room yes, no more room than is essential, but your in London, why do you need more. Even has tea and coffee making large tv and very comfy bed. Reception really friendly and helpful. Kitchen even heated some food for me as I have food allergies. I can`t find anything to fault. I will be staying again....

Great Location

Stayed for one night 20/02/16. We have used Z hotels before so we are aware of the room sizes. Great location for the show we saw . The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. Enjoyed the complimentary cheese and wine. We will use this hotel again....

Ideal location and amazingly quiet. Clean, comfortable room. Breakfast was slightly disappointing, but the staff were really helpful. Would definitely stay again....

Small but Excellent Location!

For a night out in Soho Central London, this hotel is in the heart of all the action and Theatres! A small but modern hotel. Staff were friendly. Hotel and room is very clean. The room has no window and small, so can feel a little claustrophobic for some. However, for price and location...being less than 5 mins from Leicester Square Tube. This is the perfect hotel for a night out. I will definately stay again....
