About the show

The Show
Tim Burton's much loved classic movie Beetlejuice comes to the West End! The ghost with the most hits the stage in a strangely life-affirming and wildly funny musical. We are introduced to Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager who, alongside her absentee father and obnoxious step mother, moves into an even stranger house with a pair of newley-deads and a certain mischievous ghost. Lydia soon learns that you really should be careful who you make friends with in this life and the afterlife. If you're looking for some kooky trouble this year just say his name three times...

History of Beetlejuice
Released in 1988, Beetlejuice was originally written by Micheal McDowell and Larry Wilson with the plot being much darker then the comical 80's ghost story we know and love. The script was eventually adapted into the more family friendly story we see on screen and Tim Burton was brought on board to direct. The musical came much later in 2017 with the adaption being written by Scott Brown and Anthony King with music and lyrics by Eddie Perfect. The show originally opened on Broadway on 25 April 2019 and has since had multiple runs in both 2022 and most recently in 2025. The show has garnered a large following on social media with its main actor at the time, Alex Brightman (School of Rock, Hazbin Hotel) center stage as a highly praised Beetlejuice.
