About the show

The Show
Hamilton continues to hold strong in London. The musical follows the story of founding fathers, in particular Alexander Hamilton and his rise and fall during the American revolution and beyond. The show has become known for breaking down barriers and its R&B, hip hop and soul influenced soundtrack. Throughout the show we are introduced to Hamilton's friends and foes including Aaron Burr, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and The Schuyler sisters.

History of Hamilton
The musical was written by composer and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda, who was inspired by the biography Alexander Hamilton from 2004. The show originally premiered Off-Broadway in February 2015, winning the musical eight "Drama Desk" awards. The show then opened on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre later that year in August. The show received high box office sales and ultimately won 11 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, in 2016. The show has now come to the Victoria Palace Theatre in the West End and continues to be incredibly popular.
