Hotel Indigo Edinburgh

Hotel and location

Completely renovated in April 2012, The Hotel Indigo Edinburgh is a boutique hotel with a truly unique feel. Set in a perfect location within Edinburgh`s New Town, the Hotel Indigo is just 8 minutes walk from Edinburgh`s Waverley Station. Despite its overwhelmingly contemporary appeal it sits inside five beautiful Georgian townhouses that date back to the 1800s. Funky twisted trees in brightly coloured pots stand to greet visitors outside the hotel, contrasting with the old world character of the listed buildings. Situated in the heart of Edinburgh, the Indigo Edinburgh is within walking distance of Omni Centre Edinburgh, Edinburgh Playhouse Theatre, and Calton Hill. Also nearby are Princes Street Gardens and St. Giles` Cathedral, St James Centre is just around the corner and Broughton Streets quirky arts and crafts boutiques are two minutes away. The hotel is eight miles from Edinburgh International Airport.

Room and facilities

Each of the 60 bedrooms have been individually planned and designed for comfort and style in bold turquoise and orange themes. All rooms feature Egyptian cotton linen, 32 inch HD LCD televisions with satellite channels, working desk with complimentary Wi-Fi, media hub with connections for MP3 players, iPods, laptop and games consoles for charging and cordless direct dial telephone. As well as mini bar with complimentary soft drinks, luxury toiletries, spa inspired rainfall showers, hairdryer, bathrobes, make up/shaving mirror, in room safe, iron and ironing board and tea and coffee making facilities. The contemporary feel of the Hotel Indigo Edinburgh continues in the Turquoise Thistle Restaurant which serves Scottish favourites with a distinctly modern twist. Alongside the restaurant is a bar and lounge, together these vibrant spaces remain open throughout the day. The hotel has a small fitness suite equipped with weights and cardio machines.

Hogmany Stayover was amazing

We recently booked a few days at this hotel in York Place for Hogmany and it was amazing. The room, the service and staff were exceptional. The staff were extremely helpful and very kind. We had a great time. The location of the hotel was perfect for getting about Edinburgh. The room and bathroom was of a very high standard and we were made very comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone....

Lovely hotel

We had an overnight stay. The hotel rooms were lovely, clean and staff were very pleasant. Ideal location for Edinburgh Playhouse. We will certainly rebook on our next visit....

Fab room

We booked for one night, twin room, biggest in the hotel and it didn`t disappoint! The beds were comfy, the bathroom gorgeous, just little bits of house cleaning let it down and the fact our room wasn`t ready until 4:30, however we did get a complimentary drink. We had originally went to the wrong hotel indigo and their direction giving seriously needs improvement! Bar and reception staff were brilliant, friendly and welcoming. I would definitely come here again but for the price, the room should have been immaculate and ready....

Brilliant hotel would defiantly go again!!

Hotel was excellent location, very close to playhouse, omni centre and st James shopping centre. Front of house receptionist very friendly and helpful. Room was amazing we had family room 112 which was massive and with 2 double beds a sitting area with separate bath and shower couldn`t have picked a better hotel. Breakfast was pricey at 9.95 per person but was very nice! Only down side was the bar, the girl had newly started and was left by herself. Over all brilliant and will be back!! :)...
