The 3* Argyll Western Hotel is part of a tree-lined Victorian terrace in Glasgow`s fashionable West End. Its location is ideal for visitors to Glasgow University, which is approximately 10 minutes walk from the hotel and just 20 minutes drive from the City Centre. Glasgow Botanic Gardens (free to enter) with its spectacular glass houses are an easy 6-minute stroll from the hotel. The garden`s Tea Rooms offer an extensive menu of breakfast and lunch dishes as well as Afternoon Tea. Guests wishing to visit the City Centre using public transport will find a convenient bus service taking approximately 20 minutes which stops on Great Western Road, a few minutes walk from the hotel.

The 3* Argyll Western Hotel which has retained many of its original Victorian features, has 17 guest rooms which have been stylishly refurbished in a contemporary style with traditional tartan bedding and soft furnishings. All rooms have been designed with guests` comfort in mind and include free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV, tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryers and have modern ensuite bathrooms. Full Scottish Breakfast is served every morning in the hotel`s cheerfully decorated Breakfast Room. Although there is not an onsite restaurant or bar, the hotel`s 24 hour Reception staff will be happy to recommend places in the local area.

Getting there

BY CAR: From the North East: Follow the M8 and exit at Junction 17. Take A82/Great Western Road and exit at sign posted Dumbarton. Keep right and follow signs for Kelvinside/Hillhead. Follow road straight for roughly 1 kilometre. Buckingham Terrace will be on your right hand side.
BY CAR: From South or West: Follow the M8 and exit and Junction 18 onto Great Western Road/A82. Keep right and follow signs for Kelvinside/Hillhead. Follow road straight for roughly 1 kilometre. Buckingham Terrace will be on your right hand side.
BY TRAIN or SUBWAY: From Glasgow Central or Queen Street Station: Your nearest subway stations will be either Buchannan Street or St. Enoch`s. Take the Subway to Hillhead station. Exit the station and turn right. Walk for about 3 minutes to the traffic lights at the `Oran Mor` (Church Conversion). Turn right onto Great Western Road. Walk for 200 meters and the hotel is on the opposite side of the road.
BY BUS: There is a bus stop on Great Western Road opposite the hotel. First Bus is the local service and numbers 6,6A,6B, 15 and 141 all operate along this road. For more information on bus routes please visit firstgroup.com/ukbus/Glasgow.
